Our department is committed to providing outstanding service to our community.
The Bethany Salem Volunteer Fire Department proudly serves the southwestern corner of Pickens County, providing first-response emergency medical care and initial fire support for fires and motor vehicle accidents. We hold an ISO Class 4/4X rating, effective March 01, 2025.
Our dedicated volunteers often use their personal vehicles to respond to rescue and emergency calls. Their commitment makes it possible for our department to operate. Both volunteer and professional firefighters undergo continuous training, dedicating countless hours each year to maintaining vital rescue and life-saving skills.
Since its early days, the Bethany Salem Volunteer Fire Department has significantly increased its service to the community. In 1991, we responded to 11 calls; by 2024, that number had risen to 416.
